Hey everyone,
This page has been in the works for a long time. A few months ago, I shared my progress on getting it almost finished, but since then, life has been busy. I had several projects with hard deadlines that I couldn’t ignore, and posting this page kept getting pushed further and further away.
When I started this Substack, my plan was to post the first 10 pages of this comic weekly for 10 weeks After that my intention was to move to a monthly schedule to help keep myself accountable to this project, wich as you know I love working on.
However, each of these pages takes an absurd amount of time to create—roughly 20-30 hours per page. I know, right? Who in their right mind would spend that much time on a comic page? Apparently, me.
Right now, sticking to a strict one-page-a-month schedule and writing a post for it feels like too much, so I’m switching gears slightly. I’ll still post pages as I finish them, along with some process shots and thoughts, but I’ll also use this platform to share sketchbook pages—sometimes with minimal or no additional text. I also intend to make all my posts accessible to everyone.
For those of you who are paid subscribers, I truly appreciate your support, thank you thank you thank you! If you’d like to continue supporting my art and this comic, it means a lot. That said, I completely understand if you prefer to switch to a free subscription. I may offer bonus content for paid subscribers in the future, but for now, that’s beyond me.
Currently, I have two more Wonder pages 90% done, plus one more in progress that will bring the total finished pages to 20. Once t I hist that benchmark, I plan to post them all in one place—I’m not sure exactly where yet, but I’ll keep you posted. They are intended to be a whole work with the end no whwere in sight for now. Each page hopefully making the sum more then all its parts.
Thank you again for supporting this comic and my art. I hope you’re enjoying watching each page come to life. More to come—just maybe on a less consistent schedule.
And now, enjoy this process video and watch it all come together in just about 3 minutes!
